Preparation of images for competition using LIGHTROOM

This workshop will explain how to prepare your images for competitions, using Lightroom.

Preparation of images for competition using LIGHTROOM

Select Image

Select Print module

In left hand panel select Template Browser>Maximise Size

In right hand panel make the following selections:

Layout Style: Select Single Image/Contact Sheet

Image Settings: Uncheck all boxes

Move down the panel toPrint Jobto make the following settings:
(Note: Complete this step in Print Job before returning to Layout.)

Print to JPEG File
Set File Resolutionto100 ppi
Set Print Sharpening to individual preference
Set JPEG Quality to 100
Set Custom File Dimensions to 16.00 in x 12.00 in
In Colour Management select Profile sRGB and Intent Perceptual
Brightness and Contrast can be adjusted if required.

Move back up the panel to Layout to confirm the following settings:

Ruler Units: Inches
All margins: 0.00
Page Grid:Rows 1 and Columns 1
Cell Size:Height 12.00 in and Width 16.00 in

Guides
Uncheck Show Guides

Page
Check Page Background Colour and select Black

Print to File and Save image

These settings can be saved as a Print Template:
In the left hand panel click the + next to Template Browser
Type in a name for the template and create the template in the folder User Templates

This template will prepare any image for competition regardless of the landscape or portrait format of the original image.
