When we meet:

We meet at 19.30 hours for proceedings to commence at 19.45, except for competition nights where we will start promptly at 19.30 due to time constraints for the judging. Meetings can consist of a visiting speaker, member’s lecture, members practical evening or a recorded slide and print folio. Roughly half way through the evening there is a tea break which affords the membership an opportunity for informal discussions and socialising. For a complete guide to this years events, see the “programme”.

If you would like any more information on the club, either “Email Us” or contact one of the “Committee” members. We look forward to seeing new members & guests.

Where we meet:

ALL NANTWICH CAMERA CLUB MEETINGS WILL BE ONLINE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

We have been unable to hold our usual weekly meetings at Regents Park since September 2020 so our club nights have been online, using Zoom. Our virtual meetings have been a success, however we are looking forward to the time when we can safely resume clubroom meetings once again.

Meetings take place on Tuesday evenings, from September through to the end of April, commencing at 07.30 pm prompt – see our Online Programme for the dates. In mid-August 2021 it was decided to continue using Zoom for the time being; a decision on when to recommence normal group meetings will be made during the autumn. The normal £1 weekly levy for all members and guests will not apply until we return to club room meetings.

Club members receive a personal invitation to attend online meetings by email, together with a link and password. Guests / prospective members are welcome to join us by contacting one of the committee members or emailing us at nantwichcameraclub @hotmail.co.uk

The club is very grateful to the lecturers and judges that have agreed to ‘visit’ Nantwich via a Zoom link, and share their individual expertise and creativity; thus allowing camera club members to continue to increase their knowledge and enjoyment of photography.

How to join:

New members are always welcome and are cordially invited to attend four meetings without obligation to join (subject to a small visitor’s attendance fee). Previous photographic experience is not necessary for membership. Advice can be provided relating to all aspects of photography and photographic equipment, both film based or digital.
If your photographic interests leave you with a desire to increase your knowledge or aspire to produce images of a higher standard, then the competitive environment of club competitions provide the ideal opportunity for rapid progress.
All members benefit greatly from the many visiting lecturers who freely share their individual expertise and creativity within an entertaining environment.

Safeguarding Policy

Junior members (under the age of 18 years old) are welcome at Nantwich Camera Club and the club is aware of its duty to protect children, young people and vulnerable adults (herein collectively referred to as “vulnerable individuals”) from harm within the environs of club meetings and activities. Throughout this document a child is defined as a young person aged less than 18 years.
Nantwich Camera Club accepts and recognises the responsibilities to develop awareness of the issues which may cause vulnerable individuals harm.
Nantwich Camera Club only accepts Junior Members and Vulnerable adults at its meetings and functions when they are in the care of a responsible adult.
It is normally the case that camera clubs do not display or capture indecent images at club meetings or outings. However, it is possible that suggestive images, or images that may cause distress, could be displayed or captured. It is the Nantwich Camera Club’s policy to always make an announcement beforehand when it is known that there will be images / material that may give offence.
Portrait sessions are sometimes included in the club programme. The taking of portrait photographs of vulnerable individuals is only permitted under the direct supervision of the parent or guardian. Acceptance of this Nantwich Camera Club Safeguarding Policy is part of the conditions of membership of Nantwich Camera Club.

Data Protection Policy

The new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into effect on 25th May 2018 and the club is legally obliged to protect personal information and comply with current data protection legislation – which means Nantwich Camera Club is regarded as a Data Controller.

Nantwich Camera Club (NCC) only holds the details of its members which are needed to contact them, i.e. name, address, phone number and email address; in as far as each member is willing to supply those details.

These details are held by the Treasurer and are only made available to those other Committee members who need to have them to carry out their duties. Any person wishing to verify the information held by NCC may apply to the Treasurer.

Nantwich Camera Club is affiliated to the Lancashire and Cheshire Photographic Union (L&CPU) and, like all of the other camera clubs / photographic societies in the L&CPU, the telephone / email contact details of our club members are also held by them. NCC will not provide other organisations or individuals with any list of names, details of individual members or any other details from information it holds.

It is highly unlikely that the club will have to register for Data Protection with the Information Commissioner, given the simplicity of the information held by the Treasurer, for example we do not hold any financial data of Nantwich Camera Club members.

In addition to contact information, a record of all members’ entries into club competitions is kept. The results are documented and published, together with the member’s name, on the NCC website by the Competition Secretary. An archive of competition results is kept.

Most NCC committee members have their names and telephone numbers shown on the NCC website. They are also shown on the printed copy of the current season’s club night programme. The email addresses of committee members are made available to club members.

It is important for you to know what information we hold and how we manage and use it. It is important for you to know what information we hold and how we manage and use it.

Your consent is required for us to hold the information and you can at any time requestthat it be deleted.
